As a prelude to the third annual cinema program, The Shadow Electric is once again opening up its band room.

With 12 unforgettable shows over 10 days and nights from November 1st through November 10th 2013, The Shadow Electric Band Room follows on from the successful March of the Bands program from earlier in the year that saw a cutting edge selection of fresh, emerging talent playing to Melbourne audiences at the exciting outdoor cinema venue.

This years series features a raft of awesome acts from across Australia including: Australia’s newest super group The Ape (featuring Tex Perkins, Pat Bourke, Raul Sanchez, Gus Agars) Young bloods – Pluto Jonze, Little Scout (as part of their album tour for Are You Life) and Palms (as part of their own album tour dates).

There’s also performances from local legends, including the highly anticipated EP launch show from Courtney Barnett, showcasing her newest recorded output, as well as Bored Nothing, The Spoils, and the incomparable Ben Salter.

Hope Street Records are kicking in with their very own showcase featuring the incredible spectacle that is Bombay Royale. Further shows and quality supports to be announced in coming weeks.

The Shadow Electric Band room, located in the oldest building at The Abbotsford Convent is a truly unique, intimate and surreal venue for live music. The room holds all the charm of a communist era warehouse in Berlin, whilst boasting a production and installation at the level we expect from The Shadow Electric team.

With a fine musical selection and a unique setting, these shows are not to be missed!
