Jagwar Ma Laneway Festival 2014 sideshows have been announced with the Australian-bred, internationally renowned duo playing exclusive headline shows to complement their appearance at the indie boutique festival next February.

Following on from Laneway announcing its own set of sideshows, featuring Chvrches, King Krule, and Savages, Jagwar Ma now join the list.

In the last 12 months, Jagwar Ma have delivered on the not inconsiderable hype that surrounded the release of their accomplished debut album Howlin.

From a rare and prestigious 5 star review in London’s The Times to a Best New Music stamp from Pitchfork to widespread acclaim, an ARIA nomination for Best Dance Release and a Triple J Feature Album back home, praise for their tripped-out beats and undeniable hooks has come from all quarters – including Noel Gallagher, who slammed BBC Radio 1 for not spinning one of his favourite bands.

Jagwar Ma are easily one of Australia’s most exciting live prospects at the moment: after wowing the masses at Glastonbury, Bestival and Creamfields, the band played their debut sold out shows in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles just last week.

Jagwar Ma will be supported by their pal (and Laneway alumni) Jonti. The South African born multi-instrumentalist has won serious cred since the release of his debut album Twirligig, supporting the likes of Toro Y Moi and Gotye and recording alongside Mark Ronson, Santigold and producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile). He takes the opposite approach on stage, performing an array of instruments all by himself, to great effect. We’re massive fans of his recent collab with Big Scary, check it here.
