Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have unveiled their seventeenth studio album, Ghosteen. The two-part record is split into two acts “The songs on the first album are the children,” Cave revealed in The Right Hand Files. “The songs on the second album are their parents.”
This marks the band’s first record since 2016’s poignant Skeleton Tree. The band premiered the album globally on YouTube earlier this morning, the premiere was accompanied by an ethereal animation that shifted in colours that reflected each song. You can watch the premiere below.

Ghosteen was recorded between 2018 and early 2019 at Woodshed in Malibu, Nightbird in Los Angeles, Retreat in Brighton and Candybomber in Berlin. It was mixed by Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Lance Powell and Andrew Dominik.
