The Gallagher brothers are a constant source of unfiltered opinion and ‘old-man-yells-at-cloud’ style rants that give us a true insight into the human condition. Noel recently made his way around the block, doing press to celebrate the release of the latest High Flying Birds album, Who Built The Moon, so with every interview and tweet came another opportunity to gain insight into his truly one of a kind brain.

In an interview with Billboard, the famous brother talked on the topics of the current musical landscape and the world’s current sense of impending doom.

The ever so polite Gallagher, when asked about ‘singles culture’ and whether modern music listeners engaged in full albums, as always had a couple of burning critiques.

“Well I think you’ve got to be aware of the musical landscape, but ultimately you’ve got to please yourself. You have to be, “This is what I do,” which is why I like to cross-fade tracks because if some little f—ing asshole is gonna go buy it on its own, then I’m gonna ruin the end of it for him because it cost me a lot of money and a lot of time to sequence this album and you’re gonna pick out two tracks? Well, I’m gonna f— up the intro and the outro for you. F— you.”

We didn’t expect anything less. He also went on to discuss the influence the current political climate has yielded on the album, saying, “I don’t believe in the apocalypse. I think the world is too big for a mere mortal of a North Korean idiot to end, or Donald Trump or anything like that. I’m not a doomsday merchant at all.” Could that be the most level-headed thing he’s ever said?
