Noel Gallagher has finally broken his silence on the absolute scenes that unfolded during the Oasis reunion ticket saga — and dropped a few hints on what songs might make the cut.
Speaking to former NME photographer Kevin Cummins for his new book Oasis: The Masterplan, Noel admitted he wasn’t expecting just how intense the demand would be when tickets went on sale.
“I thought it’d be a big deal, but I was a bit taken aback by just how much of a big deal it was,” he said.
The reunion tour has been chaotic since day one. Back in August, Oasis tried to tackle scalpers by partnering with Twickets, claiming tickets resold for profit would be cancelled. But when pre-sale kicked off, fans sat in queues for hours, only to see 50,000 tickets — around four per cent — pop up on resale sites for absurd amounts.
Ticketmaster later cancelled thousands of purchases in February in a bot crackdown, but some fans claimed they were unfairly targeted. Meanwhile, the band’s socials posted, “tickets can ONLY be resold, at face value, via Ticketmaster and Twickets,” doubling down on their resale policy.
Noel also revealed a few of his all-time fave Oasis songs in the same chat, telling Cummins: “Can I have more than one? ‘Supersonic’, ‘Some Might Say’, ‘Live Forever’, and ‘Rock’n’Roll Star’.”
For fans trying to guess what’ll end up in the setlist, those picks seem like a solid bet.

The ticket mess didn’t stop there — some punters noticed prices spiking thanks to Ticketmaster’s “dynamic pricing,” which pushes up prices based on demand. Both the CMA and European Commission are now investigating. Oasis released a statement saying they had no idea dynamic pricing would be used, blaming a “failed execution” of a supposedly fair pricing strategy.
To make amends, the band announced two extra Wembley shows for September 27th and 28th via invitation-only ballot — basically a second chance for fans who missed out (or got burned).
The upcoming reunion tour is set to kick off July 4th in Cardiff, with Liam and Noel joined by Andy Bell, Gem Archer, Bonehead and Joey Waronker. The Oasis supernova will blow into Australia for multiple east coast dates from late October 2025.
The love affair is strong in Australia, where “Wonderwall” came in at #1 on triple j’s Hottest 100 songs of the past 20 years, which counted down in 2013, and the song was voted #1 on the “Hottest 100” for 1995. (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? is certified eight-times platinum in Australia, having clocked up four consecutive weeks at #1 and 24 consecutive weeks in the top 10.
Oasis: still messy, still iconic.
