In an official statement from UNFD, the record label that Ocean Grove is apart of, it has been announced that a member of the band has tested positive for COVID-19.
You can read the official statement from UNFD below, in which the label establish that Ocean Grove have recently completed a meet and greet across multiple Australian cities. Anyone who attended the events has been encouraged to self-isolate for a total of two weeks.
We’ve just received the unfortunate news that a member of Ocean Grove has tested positive for COVID-19 (Coronavirus). After what was first interpreted as a common headache, he began experiencing other symptoms associated with the virus on Monday, March 16 upon which he was tested. The results have just come back today, and he is currently in good spirits while being treated.
Having just completed a promotional run of meet & greets over the weekend in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, Ocean Grove and UNIFIED felt a social responsibility to share the news immediately. If you attended one of these events, please follow the Australian Government’s advice to self-isolate for 2 weeks to prevent the spread of the virus to other people. In the event you start to experience symptoms associated with COVID-19, please seek medical attention.
Even if you are not experiencing any symptoms and/or did not attend one of the meet & greets, please consider practising self-distancing and good hygiene to stop the virus from spreading.
We’d like for you to please keep the Ocean Grove guys (and others affected) in your hearts and minds during this time.
