Here is some quick maths for you – what happens when four incredible Aussie artists combine their sonic powers into one? The answer is simple = you get the masterpiece that is Ok Moon.
Ok Moon is a collaborative project between Dustin Tebbutt, LANKS, Hayden Calnin, and Xavier Dunn, who are all songwriters, artists, and producers in their own right. This is a partnership which works to tackle raw and colourful stories of the heart, woven beautifully into cinematic indie pop songs.
The group’s first offering, ‘Loved You Right’, showcases the best of what moody downtempo indie-pop can offer – spacious instrumentals cradle swirling atmospheric soundscapes, making for a truly intimate listening experience.

As Ok Moon themselves put it, “’Loved You Right’ began with all of us huddled around a piano, murmuring some sort of a sentence which rang “If I only loved you right”. From there we started surrounding those chants with acoustic guitars and some bass, which turned the song musically into something a bit more playful than what we may have intended, but it felt right in that world.
Lyrically, ‘Loved You Right’ starts as an exploration of regret and getting stuck on the what if’s that can be attached to lost relationships or past decisions. As the song progresses however, it becomes more of an admission and celebration of our flaws as humans.”
‘Loved You Right’ is the first single from the group’s upcoming self-produced debut album which has been two years in the making.
