As we count down the days til’ Download 2019, our anxiety about Ozzy Osbourne’s impending performance heightens. Over the past few months, Osbourne has encountered numerous health problems. These issues have forced Ozzy to cancel a slew of tour dates to assist with his recovery.

Back in January, Ozzy was forced to cancel the European leg of his No More Tours IIIt was revealed that Ozzy had been diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection that had the potential to develop into pneumonia under a demanding live performance and travel schedule.

Last week, Ozzy was rushed to Keck Hospital of USC after suffering flu complications. This news was confirmed by Sharon Osbourne, who took to Twitter to reveal “As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu. His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.”

Sharon has since confirmed on her show The Talk, that Ozzy is now on the mend. “He’s out of the ICU, he’s doing good, he’s breathing on his own.” Sharon shared.

“I just want to say a huge thank you to everybody that has reached out because … he’s overcome by the response that he’s had. It’s kind of bittersweet because he’s so overwhelmed with it, but he’s sad, too.”

There’s been no word as to whether this recent hospitalisation will affect Ozzy’s appearance at Download Festival. However, it is worth noting that back in January, Download officials shared that they were “confident he [Ozzy] will be in Australia fit and healthy this March.”
