We’ve seen some truly bizzaro Twitter brawls in our time, but this might just take the cake for the most bonkers argument the hellish website has blessed us with. For some unknown reason, Grinspoon legend Phil Jamieson and pop monolith Amy Shark are beefing about notorious serial killer Ivan Milat.

After news of Milat’s death broke, Shark took to Twitter to share a good riddance sentiment. “The world is instantly a better place today with the death of Ivan Milat last night.”

The tweet was a fine, innocuous, frozen cold take — probably not something worth having a barney over. However, Phil Jamieson had a bone to pick about the whole shebang.

“Don’t talk about him. He’s revolting. Don’t give it oxygen. Cmon?,” he wrote.

Shark went on to defend her stance, stressing that dialogue brings awareness and that she should be entitled to write whatever she wants on her twitter.

To which Jamieson questioned Shark about what it is exactly that she was intending to raise awareness about. “It’s kind of populist bullshit as well… care to expand on why you feel this way? Other than clicks?”

Which Amy Shark responded to with the most “Hills District mum who’s just HAD it” KO we’ve witnessed. Zip it darl.

It’s all a bit ridiculous but we can’t deny that we love lapping up every morsel of Twitter beef on offer. Australia needs an answer to Azealia Banks.

Amy Shark is currently heading around the country on a regional tour. You can catch her at one of the remaining dates below.
