As summer draws to a close, so too do many of Australia’s music festivals, however one of the shining stars of winter to keep live music fans happy is the whacky PigSty In July who just dropped its sweet lineup for this year’s event.
Held in the pristine outdoor venue located at Belford in the Hunter Valley, the anticipation is flowing after it’s sell-out instalment in 2014, the boutique ‘2nd hand formal’ themed event features ten exceptional acts, including the reformation of legendary underground indie pop act Ice Cream Hands, the first time the Aria nominated outfit have performed since their sold out tour in 2009.
PigSty in July is also thrilled to include L-Fresh The Lion to the fold, renowned for his powerful presence, inspiring live shows and thought-provoking hip hop lyrics.
Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk are festival favourites and play low down, down home juke joint blues, joining fellow Dashville debutants Bootleg Rascal and Adelaide punk rock legends Grenadiers.
Placed alongside are a throng of Gum Balls’s most popular previous performers including the sensationally fun James Brown tribute act Pow Wow, Tropical Zombie, the ever growing local supergroup Dashville Progress Society, The Lairs, the Hunter’s most hilarious comedians and more.
PigSty in July is about luxurious indulgence, focusing on warm winter foods and an array of specially selected boutique beers, local wine and naughty cocktails, surrounded by the warmth of friends in fine outfits and open fires; PigSty in July is the perfect escape from the winter flats.
Capacity of this event is limited to 600, so grab your tickets early to avoid missing out. Tickets are $48 (+booking fee) via the website www.dashville.com.au. Return bus packages are available via www.rovercoaches.com.au. Onsite camping passes can be purchased at the gate on arrival.
