The thinking bogan’s band, Powderfinger, are calling it a day. After 21 years of being Australia’s leading exponents of middle of the road meat n’ potatoes rock, they’re doing a final lap around the country to say farewell.

Reading from a prepared statement, front man Bernard Fanning said at a press conference on Friday: “With the completion of our last album, ‘Golden Rule’, we feel that we have said all that we want to say as a musical group. We firmly believe that it is our most complete and satisfying album and can’t think of a better way to farewell our fans than with music that we all believe in and also with, hopefully, our best tour to date,”.

Fanning also told Melbourne’s Herald Sun that after the tour he planned to ‘get fat.’ The tour calls at every capital city as well as the odd one pub town. Dates are available here: http://www.powderfinger.com/sunsetstour
