Adelaide “dole-country-rock” supergroup Ricky Albeck & The Belair Line Band are back with their latest song of 2020, sharing ‘Industrial Lights’ from an upcoming split single with Dead Roo.
It’s been a few years since Ricky Albeck & The Belair Line Band first hit the scene, and ever since, this talented collective of South Aussie talent has served as one of the finest additions to local stages in some time.
Since their formation, the group have released two self-recorded EPs, with their two-track Everything, emerging only back in March. A staple of local venues, these new songs came after plenty of anticipation for fans of the band, with many beginning to wonder just how the COVID-19 pandemic affect their future plans.
Thankfully, things are looking up for not only Ricky Albeck & The Belair Line Band, but the Australian music scene as a whole, with today seeing the premiere of the group’s latest single, ‘Industrial Lights’.
A loose, jangly piece of indie-rock, ‘Industrial Lights’ sees the group at their ferocious best, delivering a suburban tale of installing the titular fittings into one’s own bedroom.
A perfect return for the group, and one almost tailor-made for the rough-and-tumble of their live shows (once gigs are back on, of course), ‘Industrial Lights’ perfectly encapsulates what Ricky Albeck & The Belair Line Band do best, and provides first-time listeners with a exceptional place at which to start their appreciation of the collective.
The track is set to be released as part of an upcoming split single from Adelaide’s Swirl Records, which is available for pre-order now. Featuring ‘Nick Of Time’ from fellow South Aussies Dead Roo on the flipside (along with another extra track from each act on each side), this single is arguably one of the strongest releases to come out of the overlooked state in some time.
Pre-orders for the split are available now, with digital copies available via the Swirl Records Bandcamp page, and physical copies – including vinyl, shirts, and a couple of bundles – available via the label’s website.
‘Industrial Lights’ is officially out on Friday, June 19th, but you can check it out below a day early. Give it a spin while you pre-order your copy of the single now!
