The Beasts have delivered the video ‘On My Back’, the latest tune from their upcoming album, Still Here.
In 2018, the Aussie music scene was undoubtedly heartbroken to learn of the passing of musical icons such as Brian Henry Hooper, and Spencer P. Jones. While the pair had played in numerous groups over the years, it was their work with The Beasts Of Bourbon that undoubtedly made them household names.
Following a final performance at Hooper’s benefit concert, The Beasts Of Bourbon frontman Tex Perkins hit upon the idea of recruiting all of the band’s members – past and present – to hit the studio to see what happens.
The resulting sessions saw the birth of The Beasts, a new group full of familiar faces that still showcases the primal musicianship and live ferocity that the band’s former namesake showcased for so many years.
Now, with a new album and tour on the way, The Beasts have unveiled the video for their latest single, ‘On My Back’.
Featuring a who’s-who of Aussie music playing the tune live, the video for ‘On My Back’ shows Tex Perkins, Charlie Owen, Kim Salmon, Boris Sujdovic, and Tony Pola doing what they do best; dishing up filthy, bluesy rock with an inimitable attitude.
With pounding drums, driving riffs, and the iconic growl of Tex Perkins, ‘On My Back’ is everything you’d expect from The Beasts, albeit with the tragic lack of contributions from Spencer P. Jones.
The Beasts are also set to hit the road next month in support of their new record, kicking off in Castlemaine, before hitting up Queensland, the ACT, New South Wales, Western Australia, and South Australia.
Also announced recently are the support acts for the upcoming tour, with Dallas Crane performing in Melbourne, The Painkillers in WA, and The Johnnys, who will be kicking off the Brisbane, NSW, ACT, and SA shows.
