Everyone’s favourite coastal music festival is back for another year, with the Queenscliff Music Festival announcing the stunning lineup that will descend upon Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula this November.
Following a huge 2017 event that saw the likes of The Temper Trap, Yothu Yindi, Bernard Fanning, and The Beautiful Girls top the festival’s bill, one could be forgiven for thinking that there’s no way the annual gathering could top a lineup like that. However, organisers have once again outdone themselves, putting together an array of artists that would make any music fan jealous.
Topping the bill this year is none other than globetrotting superstar Courtney Barnett, who is currently on a global tour in support of her second album, Tell Me How You Really Feel. Joining Courtney though is a veritable who’s-who of Aussie music, with veteran musicians The Whitlams joining the lineup, in addition to the stunning Sarah Blasko, Kasey Chambers, The Herd, and comedic legends Tripod.
While acts such as Fraser A. Gorman, Oh Pep!, and The Little Stevies also join the bill, audience members will also be treated to a tribute to late Indigenous musician Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, with his final album, Djarimirri (Child Of The Rainbow), being performed by a 16-piece orchestra from the Australian National Academy of Music.
Also coming along for the ride is a handful of brilliant international acts, including Japan’s Osaka Monaurail, The Turner Brown Band, and chilled-out rocker Donavon Frankenreiter.
Tickets to this year’s festival are on sale now, so don’t delay in ensuring your spot in the crowd for one of the most enticing Aussie festival lineups you’ll see for a while.
