It had to happen, didn’t it? If you can have a show called Footballer’s Wives, then surely a show about the wives of the quiet and chaste species known as the rock star is inevitable. Entitled Married To Rock, the show on the cable network E! features the wives and girlfriends of several LA rock stars who are probably no longer at the top of groupies’ lists.
Susan Holmes McKagan, is the wife of former Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver and Jane’s Addiction bassist Duff McKagan,; Etty Farrell, is married to Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell; Josie Stevens, is the model wife of Billy Idol’s longtime guitarist Steve Stevens; while AJ Celi, is the girlfriend of The Cult’s guitarist Billy Duffy.
Lisa Berger, head of programming at E! says; “So many women have a fantasy about landing a rock star. We’re raising the curtain on the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and showing there’s more to it than the late-night partying, ravaged hotel rooms and jet-set life we’ve all read about. But, of course, there’s all of that too.” We wonder if the old maxim ‘what happens on the road, stays on the road’ will remain the number one rule of rock n’ roll here? The series premieres in the US in early November.
