Joey Gaydos Jr., who rose to fame as an actor in the 2003 film School Of Rock, is facing some serious charges after being arrested for stealing musical equipment.

Back in 2003, the world of music was delighted to see the premiere of Richard Linklater’s musical comedy, School Of Rock. Featuring Jack Black in a starring role, the film sees Black posing as a substitute teacher and attempting to form a student rock band in the process.

In addition to dishing out lessons in regards to how to rock out and write a great song, Black’s character also imparted the sage advice to “stick it to the man”. Now, it seems as though ‘the man’ has clamped down on one of the film’s most famous actors.

As TMZ reports, 27-year-old Joey Gaydos Jr., who played the role of lead guitarist Zack “Zack-Attack” Mooneyham, has been arrested and faces charges relating to the repeated theft on musical equipment.

The first of these thefts reportedly occurred on February 7th, when Gaydos, Jr. walked into a music store, began to strum it, and soon made his way to the exits.

Security footage was shared around the area, and when he attempted to steal a $2k Gibson Les Paul gold top on February 11th, police were called and the former actor was arrested.

Further incidents occurred on February 14th and February 25th, with Joey Gaydos Jr. reportedly getting into the habit of lifting guitars from music stores and then attempting to sell them to local pawn shops.

In addition to the aforementioned Gibson Les Paul, Gaydos Jr. has also been accused of stealing an $800 Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul, a black Fender Stratocaster worth $699, and a guitar amplifier as well.

According to police, Gaydos Jr. has blamed a drug addiction for his actions, and has reportedly appeared before the courts to enter a ‘not guilty’ plea for the charges of theft relating to the guitars.

Sadly, this isn’t the first time that Joey Gaydos Jr. has had a run-in with law enforcement, having been arrested on a drink-driving charge as a 17-year-old in 2009.
