Sleater-Kinney look set to unleash some new music soon, with the group sharing a few interesting social posts earlier today.

This time last year, Sleater-Kinney excited their legions of fans by revealing they were working on a new record. Their first album since 2015’s No Cities To Love, Carrie Brownstein told us not to get our hopes up, explaining they were taking things slowly.

“Now, just so you know, we’re going to do this very slowly,” she explained, “it’s an ongoing conversation.”

Weeks later though, Brownstein gave the band something of a deadline, explaining that the album would be out in early 2019.

However, as we tend towards the middle of 2019, we have indeed learnt that the group are set to release their new album this year, with St. Vincent in the producer chair.

Now, it looks like things are getting down to the wire.

Taking to Twitter over the last day, Sleater-Kinney shared a series of posts, all featuring the same image of the group with Carrie Brownstein’s head turned around on her body. The images are all captioned with similar phrases, including “Unlovable”, “Unfuckable”, and “Unlistenable”.

Each of these posts were paired with a similar web address which, when followed, leads to the Sleater-Kinney website, offering fans the chance to sign up to their mailing list, or sign up for updates from Apple Music and Spotify.

According to Stereogum, record label Mom + Pop recently updated their website to include a page about a new Sleater-Kinney album titled The Center Won’t Hold.

While the page has since been pulled, it was noted that the lead single is set to be called ‘Hurry On Home’, featuring artwork similar to that of the band’s Twitter posts.

With Sleater-Kinney recently revealing their first live dates in two years, it looks like we haven’t got that long to go before we finally receive new music from one of the finest indie-rock acts of all time. Here’s hoping that album tour might include another trip to Australia!
