We all know Corey Taylor is the king of rewriting the rules. The polymath may wear many hats, including singer, songwriter, actor and author, but perhaps we underestimated the breadth of his music abilities.

Thanks to an exchange on Twitter (where all the best music collaborations find their spark), the Slipknot and Stone Sour member has teamed up with UK rapper Kid Bookie on a new version of his track ‘Stuck in My Ways’.

Kid Bookie had taken to Twitter to write that Slipknot track ‘Wait and Bleed’ was as iconic as System of a Down’s ‘Chop Suey!’. He then direct tweeted Taylor with, “I gotta work with you before both of us leave this earth.”

Corey Taylor, the accessible metal luminary that he is, obliged.

Check out Taylor’s rap skills below as he adds in his own verses to ‘Stuck In My Ways’, around the 2:30 mark.

This isn’t the first time Taylor has injected a little hip hop into our lives. Those playing at home will remember his initial nu-metal rap leanings on ‘Spit It Out’ from Slipknot’s debut self-titled LP, released in 1999.

The track is released during a trying time for Slipknot. Earlier this month, Slipknot have made their first official statement in regards to news of a lawsuit from founding member Chris Fehn.

The statement, made in response to claims by Fehn that he had not received proper payment, also confirmed Chris Fehn is no longer a member of the group.

“Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot,” it read.

Slipknot is headed to Australia this October for a mammoth stadium tour with fellow metal juggernauts Metallica.
