With it now looking very likely that Harvest 2013 is to be cancelled and broken up into headline tours after ailing ticket sales for the music festival, it seems that some of the lineup may instead be absorbed into the Soundwave 2014 lineup.

“At this point it looks like it will disassociate into several tours,” Maddah said of the third edition of Harvest, to take place this November.

While the decision is yet to be finalised, Maddah has already moved into negotiations should the need to cancel Harvest 2013 eventuate. But among the mix of indie, electronic, and alternative rock acts on the lineup, Maddah mentioned that a pair could find refuge in the lineup for his other flagship festival series.

Eccentric funk metal outfit Primus and muscular New Orleans band Mutemath could likely end up being part of the second Soundwave 2014 lineup, while the rest of the Harvest 2013 lineup will be presented as separate headline tours, as Maddah continues negotiations.

Primus are an understandable fit for the hard and heavy festival, having played Soundwave 2011, though the crunchy mix of soul, blues, and electronic-leaning rock of Mutemath might seem a little more left of centre for the typical Soundwave demographic.

Regardless, news from the Soundwave camp has obviously slowed since the promoter and his team have scrambled to make a last ditch rescue effort for Harvest 2013, but amongst the furore, Maddah has confirmed the second Soundwave 2014 lineup will be announced “early October.”

As previously reported, the second announcement will add “20 bands if I can manage not to book any more!” in the words of Maddah, including a third headliner to join Green Day and Avenged Sevenfold in heading the bill.

As for who to expect on the second announce, Newcaslte ska band The Porkers were apparently back on for the initial Soundwave 2014 lineup after initially being dumped due to their management playing “hardball” in negotiations. Frontman Pete Porker, a good friend of Maddah’s, had reportedly smoothed things over with the Soundwave boss, but the band are yet to officially appear on the lineup.

Likewise Swedish glam metal outfit Crashdiet, who had let slip of their involvement way back in February but have yet to appear on the Soundwave lineup.

There’s an outside chance that Good Charlotte could be on the second Soundwave 2014 lineup announcement too, with previous reports that Joel Madden was “hustling” to get the pop punks on the bill by rearranging his TV scheduling commitments for The Voicewhen asked if the offer was genuine, Maddah replied simply “deadly serious.”

There’s also a chance that Iron Maiden could be the third headliner, with Maddah in talks with the band since July about a possible Australian visit from the metal legends, while other tweets from the promoter have put the likes of Jimmy Eat World and Panic! At The Disco in the mix also.

The fertile Maddah twitter feed has also ruled out several other potential additions too, including Deftones and vocalist Chino Moreno’s new band Palms and Soundgarden.  Despite the obvious turmoil that Harvest 2013 is in, hopefully the same stalling ticket sales won’t affect Soundwave 2014
