St. Vincent has announced dates for her new tour in support of her album Daddy’s Home, kicking off in September 2021.
St. Vincent will be back on the touring circuit later this year. The singer-songwriter has announced dates for a new tour in support of her latest album, Daddy’s Home.
The 23-city tour will commence September 3rd and go on till the end of October. Starting in Portland Maine, St. Vincent will go across America, hitting Boston, Los Angeles, and Nashville along the way. Some of the dates on the tour itinerary include pre-announced performances, such as her appearance at the Pitchfork Music Festival and the Shaky Knees Festival.
The singer-songwriter will be backed by Down And Out Downtown Band for the entirety of the tour. The act also joined her for recent performances on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. For some shows on the Western coast, she will be joined by Spoon.
The tour comes on the heels of St. Vincent’s newest album, Daddy’s Home, which came out earlier in May. Like the title suggests, the album is an intensely personal account of emotions stirred by her father’s release from prison in 2019.
Taking listeners back to an older, noir-ridden, grimier era, St. Vincent described the sound as ‘music made in New York from 1971-76, typically post-flower child, kick the hippie idealism out of it, America’s in a recession but pre-disco, the sort of gritty, raw, wiggly nihilistic part of that’ in an interview in 2020.
