Two of the biggest names in Australian music have finally collaborated, with Tash Sultana and Matt Corby dropping the luscious ‘Talk It Out’ this morning.
Over the last couple of days, Aussie music fans have been eagerly awaiting new information about a prospective collaboration from iconic performers Tash Sultana and Matt Corby.
Having first shared snaps together back in 2017, the pair ignited speculation earlier this week after sharing an image on social media with no caption.
While rumours quickly swirled in regards to what this could mean, the hype raised itself another notch yesterday when the pair shared some artwork promising something called ‘Talk It Out’ being unleashed on Thursday morning.
Premiering earlier today on triple j, ‘Talk It Out’ is the dreamy collaboration that fans have been waiting for. With blissed out guitar lines, a hazy atmosphere, and some dazzling interplay between the pair’s vocals, it’s a testament to what both artists are capable of.

In a statement, Matt Corby explains that the tune was originally slated for his last record. However, he soon felt as though it needed some outside musical additions, with Tash Sultana’s stunning vocals and guitarwork proving as a perfect fit.
“I wrote the song during the sessions for Rainbow Valley, but in a different way to the rest of the album,” he explained. “It didn’t feel like it was a fit for the record, so I revisited it with Tash.
“Tash has a giant musical beast living inside of her, so I knew she could deal with whatever I threw at her. It was amazing to collaborate with someone like that, and have her throw her musical stylings over the song.”
Likewise, Tash Sultana explained that the pair had played together in the past, but it was ‘Talk It Out’ that finally saw them lay down their tunes on record.
“Matt is an amazing songwriter and instrumentalist. He’s also an absolutely awesome guy with a huge soul, so it was a privilege to be a part of this project.”
While there’s no word yet as to if there could be some more collaborations down the line for this pair, the tune is undoubtedly on track to be one of the biggest Aussie releases of the year, so watch out for it in next year’s Hottest 100.
