The first new music from the recently announced Tenacious D album Post Apocalypto is finally out! “Post Apocalypto Theme (Reprise)” and “HOPE” appear in the first episode of their new animated series under the same title and are the first offerings from the duo ahead of the album out November 2nd.

Post Apocalypto boasts a massive 21 tracks and features contributions from Dave Grohl. The moving ballad “HOPE” discusses surviving a nuclear holocaust alongside a two-headed dog over a string arrangement.
The six part animated series which is being slowly released in the build-up to the album is animated entirely by Jack Black and shows Black and his Tenacious D sidekick Kyle Gass learning to survive in a post-apocalyptic world.
The new album is the duo’s first since 2012’s Rize Of The Fenix. The duo have recently held their own festival, and are now gearing up for a North American tour behind the album. No Aussie dates have been announced but we’re hoping they’ll make their way to our shores next year for their first shows here since 2013.
