You know you’re in for a good time when you’re headed to a Bennies show, but fans who recently gathered to see the band at Melbourne’s Max Watts were also treated to an appearance from an Aussie music legend.

“Recently we were joined on stage by the great Damian Cowell of TISM to perform a cover of ‘(He’ll Never Be An) Ol’ Man River’,” the band write. “We all regard it as one of the highlights of our career.”

For those kids out there too young to remember, Cowell, aka Humphrey B. Flaubert, is something of a local Melbourne music legend thanks to his work with TISM, who were like a giant middle finger in the face of Aussie culture for more than two decades.

‘(He’ll Never Be An) Ol’ Man River’ is one of the band’s most iconic tunes and Cowell’s raucous performance of the track with The Bennies is certainly a sight to behold. You can behold it for yourself down below.
