Last week, Tone Deaf reported on the forthcoming launch of a brand new music festival that’s set to rock Newcastle this October, This That. Organisers have now unveiled the huge lineup set for its inaugural instalment, including RÜFÜS, Birds of Tokyo, Sticky Fingers, and more.

Organisers are also promising appearances from the likes of Baauer, The Jungle Giants, The Kite String Tangle, Carmada, Tkay Maidza, Slumberjack, Asta, Kilter, Atlas Bound, Stephane 1993, Ivan Ooze, and a triple j Unearthed competition winner to be announced later in the year.

Launching on Saturday, 31st October, This That will be drawing revellers to Newcastle’s iconic beachside Foreshore greenspace for a full day of primo eats and carefully crafted beverages, while this cream-of-the-crop lineup will be performing across two massive stages.

The outdoor This Stage will be hosting an eclectic mix of local and international artists, while over on That Stage, some of the most exciting electronic music acts will be tearing up the big top.

While the music is obviously well taken care of, This That prides itself on being a full cultural experience. Organisers promise punters can forget about “the days of overpriced, under-satisfying premixed festival drinks in a can”.

This That features small batch brew craft beer, wine, cider, and fresh poured mixed spirits and cocktail lists to be curated by the region’s slickest bars and hole-in-the-wall speakeasies. There’ll be plenty of eats too, with a crack team of Sydney’s best food trucks.

Oh, and did we mention an “artisan market that would put Etsy to shame”? The market will feature stalls that will bring like-minded individuals together to share carefully crafted creative wares, as well as roving artisan performances and interactive workshops to open the mind and warm the soul.
