Before Matt and Alex helmed the Triple J Breakfast show, there was Tom and Alex. And way before this, Tom Ballard and Alex Dyson were a presenting team on community radio station 3WAY FM.

This morning, as Matt and Alex say farewell to Triple J, Alex’s old sparring partner Tom Ballard came in to co-present with them, and decided to air a bunch of old clips of him and Alex on 3WAY.

Clearly Ballard didn’t vet these clips too thoroughly (or maybe he did) because one of the old clips has Alex giving out his mobile number for call-ins. Not a problem, right, and rather common in community radio – except this is still Dyson’s mobile number!

This didn’t go unnoticed, with amused listeners taking to Twitter to laugh about this, and threaten to make a few calls. We know the pair never appeared on commercial radio, but this move in Dyson’s final week on air has to be the ultimate Gotcha call.
