Tool have just wrapped up their Australian tour, dazzling sell-out crowds in arenas around the country with their incredible stage show, supporting their acclaimed new album Fear Inoculum.

Now, their production team has revealed how they pull off such incredible visual performances with a very insightful behind-the-scenes video looking at all the cues, equipment and processes followed to pull off the show, with an extended explanation via PLSN.com.

“We have at least a half dozen songs with more than 50 video cues” revealed Breckinridge Haggerty, who’s in the video crew, adding that in the song Pneuma, there are 42 video cues, 70 lighting cues and 20 laser cues throughout the course of the 12-minute tune.

Reading through the article, it makes you hope that the guys in the crew are fans of the music, as everything has to be done in accordance with the band, not a backing track.

“The band doesn’t play to a click, so we don’t have a bitstream we can latch onto; hence, we’re responsible for making everything happen on time,” said team member Mark Jacobson.
