The upcoming Australian tour from Tool is clearly going to be one for the ages, with the band announcing an extra Melbourne show due to overwhelming demand.
Just last week, Aussie music fans received word that the mighty Tool are set to tour Australia for the first time in six years next year.
Having spent the last month out on tour in North America, fans were wondering when Tool might bring their spectacular live show to our shores.
The excitement began just a couple of weeks ago though, when Frontier Touring shared a mysterious countdown, featuring the band’s font, and lyrics from their new song ‘7empest’. With a countdown clock expiring last week, the news broke that Tool had announced their first Aussie tour since 2014.
Kicking off on Friday, February 14th in Perth, the tour will see the band hitting up Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, before heading over to play an Auckland show in New Zealand. However, this tour has since proved to be a very hot ticket.
With pre-sales taking place earlier today for the New Zealand and Australian east coast shows, overwhelming demand has seen a pair of new shows added.
While our Kiwi friends will now enjoy a second show at Spark Arena on Saturday, February 29th, Melbourne fans will have a second chance to see the band at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Sunday, February 23rd, one night after their first Victorian show.

Tickets to Tool’s first Aussie tour in almost six years go on sale from 2pm local time on Friday, November 22nd, while a Frontier Members pre-sale has likely already begun depending on where you’re located.
Pre-sales for the new Melbourne gig kick off at 3:30pm on Wednesday, November 20th, so be sure to get in quick. Check out all the details below.
