Almost six years on from their last tour of the country, the mighty Tool have today announced a run of headline dates in support of their latest studio album, Fear Inoculum.

Back in 2014, Australian fans were lucky enough to receive a massive headline tour from Tool. Their third tour of the country in just over seven years, we were undoubtedly feeling a little bit spoiled, albeit disappointed the group were yet to unleash new material.

Earlier this year though, the 13-year drought between albums finally broke, with Tool announcing the release of Fear Inoculum, their first studio album since 2006.

One of the most highly-anticipated albums of all time, the record topped charts around the world and saw fans old and new being reminded of why Tool are one of the most successful and revered metal bands of all time.

Having spent the last month out on tour in North America, fans were wondering when Tool might bring their spectacular live show to our shores.

The excitement began rising last week though, when Frontier Touring shared a mysterious countdown, featuring the band’s font, and lyrics from their new song ‘7empest’. With a countdown clock expiring earlier today, the news has now broken that Tool have announced their first Aussie tour since 2014.

Kicking off on Friday, February 14th in Perth, the tour will see the band hitting up Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, before heading over to play an Auckland show in New Zealand.
