triple j have announced the location of their 2019 One Night Stand

Are you eager to see some sweet tunes at the triple j One Night Stand this September? Well, now the station have revealed the location you’ll have to plug into your GPS this year.

Earlier this week, triple j revealed the acts that will be making up this year’s free One Night Stand concert.

An annual event that sees some of Australia’s biggest names hit up a regional town for a night they won’t soon forget, the concerts have visited the likes of Mildura, Alice Springs, Dubbo, and St. Helens, Tasmania.

With word being announced this week that a phenomenal lineup of the Hilltop Hoods, Meg Mac, Ocean Alley, and G Flip would be performing somewhere this September, punters undoubtedly wondered where they would have to travel to see such an event. Now, we have our answer.

Announced today, the triple j One Night Stand is set to make its return to South Australia, with this year’s event being held at Lucindale.

A small town of under 1,000, Lucindale is located 345 km south-east of Adelaide, and 127 km north-west of Mount Gambier, undoubtedly making this one a bit out of the way for the average touring band.

Of course, the decision to head to Lucindale shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, with a Facebook campaign to bring the One Night Stand to their town kicking off in 2012, and receiving almost 7,000 likes in the time since.

“We are very excited to have been selected to host the triple j One Night Stand featuring some of Australia’s best acts,” explained Mayor Erika Vickery OAM. “We’re looking forward to showing off Lucindale to the rest of Australia.

“This is an opportunity for our young people to experience a fantastic event which provides a platform to highlight the youth in our community. This event will show that small communities, such as Lucindale, can do incredible things.”
