Twilight At Taronga has announced the full lineup of artists set to perform against the picturesque backdrop of its 180-degree Sydney harbour views in 2016, including Courtney Barnett, Josh Pyke, Tex Perkins, and more.
As a major celebration of Taronga Zoo’s centennial year, the stunning vantage point offered by the site’s harbour-side amphitheatre will be hosting music lovers every weekend from Thursday, 28th January through Saturday, 12th March.
This year’s lineup is packed with internationally renowned artists and some of Australia’s best local musical talents, with a launch performance from Courtney Barnett, who’s just been nominated for eight ARIA Awards.
Punters will also be treated to sets from Josh Pyke, John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Birds of Tokyo, Missy Higgins in a special Valentine’s weekend performance, crowd favourites Björn Again back by popular demand, and the Violent Femmes.
“We are absolutely delighted to kick start Taronga’s centennial year with an epic Twilight lineup,” said Marion Joyce, Twilight at Taronga Manager. “We invite everybody to join in the celebration and grab the ferry, a hamper, a refreshing drink and enjoy the sunset and the amazing sounds of the 2016 series of Twilight at Taronga.”
All proceeds from Twilight At Taronga go toward the Taronga Conservation Society Australia, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to wildlife conservation, scientific research, and environmental sustainability. Check the Twilight At Taronga website for full program details.
