Taylor Swift has been more candid than ever in her new interview with Rolling Stone.

Off the back of the release of Lover, Taylor Swift has embraced a brighter, more mature chapter of her musical career. No longer is she leather clad and hellbent on owning the ‘snake’ of her Reputation era, this new Taylor is revelling in pastels and reflective self-awareness.

Swift’s latest high profile interview has seen the singer open up about a number of things including the perception of her ‘girl squad’, the constant criticism of her in the public eye and perhaps more notably, her tumultuous relationship with Kanye West.

Their ups and downs have been well documented since that fateful moment at the MTV VMAs back in 2009, yet with the release of West’s ‘Famous’ track, things between the two escalated.

Swift didn’t hold back from explaining how she felt about Kim Kardashian inserting herself into the drama, leaking phone calls between Kanye and Taylor, where the latter was apparently heard agreeing to the lyric, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous”.

“The world didn’t understand the context and the events that led up to it,” she said.

“Because nothing ever happens like that without some lead-up. Some events took place to cause me to be pissed off when [he] called me a bitch.”

“I realised he’s so two-faced,” Swift said of West. “That he wants to be nice to me behind the scenes, but then he wants to look cool, get up in front of everyone and talk shit. And I was so upset.”

Touching on Drake’s beef with Pusha T, Swift also called West out for his involvement in the rappers’ issues.

“He gravely affected the trajectory of Drake’s family and their lives. It’s the same thing. Getting close to you, earning your trust, detonating you. I really don’t want to talk about it anymore because I get worked up, and I don’t want to just talk negative shit all day, but it’s the same thing. Go watch Drake talk about what happened.”
