Tyler, The Creator has mentored 30 young creatives from around the world as part of Converse’s  ‘All Star Series’.

The Sydney leg of the initiative is the third stop, Tyler, The Creator visited Paris and New York as part of the series earlier this year.

The ‘All Star Series’ brought together creatives from all over the world and gave them the opportunity to receive invaluable advice from the Grammy award winner.

Tyler, The Creator, sat down for a chat with the young creatives in a session dubbed ‘Tyler Talks Series’. During the conversation, the rapper revealed that his favourite place in Australia is Perth.

“I was in Perth for like five days..I love it there. Don’t know how ya’ll feel about it [sic]. Don’t give a f*ck. That place is awesome. Perth is ill because… Sydney like feels like a city. But Perth is like, its city, but its super chilled”.

However, Tyler, The Creator added that his favourite place in Sydney is Luna Park.

“Luna Park, bro we went yesterday. Y’all have a treasure there. That is a f*cking treasure that place. The slides – are you crazy? We had a moment upstairs, it was cool.”

For the best part of an hour, Tyler, the Creator answered questions from the young creators and explained to one of them how he handles rejection. He told the woman that he is careful to not ask for advice from people who aren’t familiar in his area of expertise.

“[For example] I don’t wear sweats. So if my friend is like, ‘y’all I made these sweats, you want to wear them?’ And I’m like, ‘bro, I don’t wear sweats, so I can’t even say that these are good or bad’… Be super aware that stuff like.

To celebrate the Converse event in Sydney with Tyler, The Creator, the brand launched a new colourway of Tyler’s GOLF le FLUER* 2.0 sneakers in Verdent Green.
