Under the Southern Stars is back with a bang with the announcement of new tour dates and a fresh lineup.

After being forced to postpone its 2020 shows due to the pandemic, the festival’s revamped lineup will feature Bush, Stone Temple Pilots and new additions Cheap Trick.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will replace Live, who cannot make the April and May tour dates.

Cheap Trick will be hot off the heels of having released their 20th album In Another World when they take to the stage down under.

In a statement, the band revealed they are “excited to play some of [their] new songs” during the tour.

“We look forward to joining Bush and Stone Temple Pilots in one of our favourite countries!” they added.

The shows will also feature performances from Aussie acts Rose Tattoo and Electric Mary.

“I’m so proud of my team in securing exemption from Commission of Border Control and thankful to all the Captains of Industry, Ministers, Lord Mayors and SA Premier for their letters of support. We are very excited to now be able to announce Cheap Trick as an addition to the line-up, it’s a shame Live’s schedule won’t permit the new time frame yet I am sure this triple bill will rock our UTSS audiences to the core!” said promoter Andrew McManus in a statement.

He added: “Being the first live on stage International tour, we are aware the eyes of the world will be on us championing the re-opening of live International touring not only in Australia but globally.”

Those who already booked tickets are encouraged to hold on to them in order to support the music industry.

However, punters who cannot attend the new dates can keep their eye out for an email with information regarding ticket transfers and refunds.
