Did Tkay Maidza release a career-defining video and single with ‘Kim’? Absolutely.

The team up with US rapper and producer Yung Baby Tate sees Maidza bring fans to their knees with her expert rap flow and bouncing rhythm. Following the ARIA-nominated, Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 2 EP in August last year, Maidza released what is assumed to be the lead single from Vol.3 – and it’s a banger.

The visual itself takes Tkay Maidza The Business to another level altogether. Taking cues from three iconic Kims: Kim Possible, Lil Kim and Kim Kardashian, the clip sees Tkay switch from working in the lab as Kim Possible to donning Lil Kim’s iconic 1999 MTV VMAs outfit, and Kim Kardashian’s internet-breaking PAPER cover shoot. Meanwhile, a 10-storeys tall Yung Baby Tate appears as a second Kim Possible antagonist, Shego.

“The idea for the song came from Kim Possible, an iconic figure in my childhood – she always came out on top,” said Maidza. “I thought why not make a song to remind those who question me that I will always figure it out like Kim. From there when we starting planning a video we thought why not recreate iconic moments from other iconic Kim’s, across generations.”
