A coroner’s report into the death of Vinnie Paul has concluded that the Pantera drummer’s passing was due to a heart condition.
Vinnie Paul passed away on Friday, June 23rd during his sleep. The Clark County Coroner’s Office has reported that Paul suffered from dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition that restricts the heart’s ability to pump blood. He also suffered with severe coronary artery disease.
A representative for Paul has made a statement, announcing “Vincent Paul Abbott died from natural causes, specifically, dilated cardiomyopathy. Severe coronary artery disease was identified as a significant condition to the cause of death according to the official report submitted by the Clark County Coroner’s office. We ask that you please continue to respect the privacy of the family and friends of Vinnie Paul. No further statement will be issued.”
It was initially reported that the drummer’s cause of death was a “massive heart attack” but the spokesperson at the time said the cause of death was “still pending”.
