Get ready to get heavy, music lovers, because The Faction’s Hardest 100 is back for another year.

Back in February of 2018, Australia’s heavy metal streaming radio station The Faction revealed they were going to debut a brand new music poll, solely for heavy music.

Yes, if you thought that triple j’s Hottest 100 was lacking in brutality, or that the re-voted Hottest 100 of 1998 still didn’t have enough Marilyn Manson, then the Hardest 100 is right up your alley.

Counting down its inaugural poll in March of 2018, Architects’ ‘Doomsday’ topped the list, while classic tracks from Metallica, Parkway Drive, and Rage Against The Machine followed closely behind.

Now, the polls are open once again, however this time around will see votes limited to tracks released within the 2018 calendar year.

“This is the year that I think that fans of heavy music are going to draw a line in the sand and let everyone know that they are a community that isn’t to be ignored and cannot be denied,” The Faction’s Tim Price explained to The Music.

“Fans in the heavy music community know great music and I can’t wait to see what comes out on top this year.”

“Last year’s countdown was incredible and it showed that there are thousands of heavy music fans out there who want more representation and recognition for their favourite artists and we are bringing that to them!”

If you’re keen on having your say, head over to The Music and cast your vote now. There’s a bunch of prizes to be won just for voting, which will undoubtedly make the deal even sweeter when you listen to the countdown from midday on Saturday, March 2nd.
