Pop chanteuse Kate Vigo is trying to explore both ends of the spectrum on her upcoming album, Blue To Gold; the light-hearted, energetic side and the darker, moodier side. She has drawn inspiration from things that made up her past, including ’60s girl bands, ’90s Rage programming and David Lynch.

Having already played a whole bunch of festivals including the Port Fairy Folk Festival, Brunswick Music Festival, St Kilda Music Festival as well as The Famous Spiegeltent, as well as winning the 2010 Arts Victoria Music Career Building Grant and the Music Oz Best Video Clip award last year for her song ‘The Way You Are,’ Kate Vigo is making her name heard.

Wanna Run – Kate Vigo by showoffservices

‘Wanna Run’ is the second single from Blue To Gold. Featuring a boppy Cure-esque synth riff and sunny guitar, this electro-pop gem is about “struggle of finding one’s own path in life amid the tempest of competing expectations.” It’s a feel-good springtime song; catchy, simple, upbeat and fun. Vigo and her band are set to launch ‘Wanna Run’ at the Toff In Town on October 6 before releasing Blue To Gold in March 2012 through The Planet Company/MGM.
