That’s it. We’re going there. This is one of the biggest Aussie music collaborations of 2019. And we’re very aware we’re not even halfway through the year.

Earlier this month, Aussie hip-hop icon Allday unleashed his latest single and collaboration with pop-rock legends The Veronicas, ‘Restless’. The track is from Allday’s upcoming third full length release Starry Night Over The Phone, out July 12.

Then, the unlikely trio performed a stunning triple j Like A Version session, which included ‘Restless’, but also Joni Mitchell’s ‘Big Yellow Taxi’.

The Tom, Lisa and Jess collab is the gift that just keeps on giving with the release of the ‘Restless’ video.

Directed and produced by Rory Pippan (Mallrat, Fergus James, Carmouflage Rose), who was the mastermind behind Allday’s recent ‘Lungs’ video.

Allday said the clip was filmed in his hometown of Adelaide, which he left years ago when he decided to turn his bedroom producing into a career.

“I went back to Adelaide (my hometown) to shoot all the videos for this album and I wanted to capture the desolation and boredom of the place,” said Allday.

“Growing up in a boring place was fantastic for me because it sparked my imagination; where I’m from is really important to me. We used that as inspiration, and exaggerated a lot of the light and dark aspects of the place for this video.”

With Allday’s third album dropping in just over two weeks, his label ONETWO is hosting a trio of in-store Starry Night Over The Phone album events down the East Coast starting on album release day, Friday 12 July.

Details are:

Friday 12 July – 24Hundred, Melbourne. Starts 5pm
Saturday 13 July – Rocking Horse, Brisbane. Starts 4pm
Sunday 14 July – Red Eye Records, Sydney. Starts 4pm

Prior to Allday’s national tour in support of the record in August, Australia’s own envelope pushing artist will return to the Splendour in the Grass stage where he will bring along a rollcall of TBC friends. But considering his tour dates are set to feature onstage collaborations with Mallrat, singer-songwriter E^ST and musician-on-the-rise JXN, I guess we have some idea.
