Adelaide rockers West Thebarton have dug deep into their playlists, delivering a list of the tracks that make them feel tops.

Earlier this year, West Thebarton returned to the airwaves with ‘Tops’, their first single following the release of their 2018 debut, Different Being Being Different.

An absolutely mesmerising anthem from the South Aussie septet, full of the tasty riffs and powerful choruses that they’ve become known for.

Seemingly mirroring the feeling of being an in-demand group, ‘Tops’ sees the band touching on themes of exhaustion (both mental and physical), and searching for that much-needed respite.

“This song is about those times in your life when you know you should feel so fucking good about yourself, but all you can focus on is negative,” explains frontman Reverend Ray Dalfsen.

“One particularly dark day, I gave my partner a call” he continued, “and she just paused and said, ‘fuck it, live in the sunshine.’”

Now, with the band having kicked off their Tops tour in Adelaide over the weekend, West Thebarton have given us a list of the tracks that make them feel tops, and offering up a playlist that helps them to “live in the sunshine.”

Featuring rowdy Aussie anthems from acts like Flyying Colours, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, and Tropical Fuck Storm, we’re also treated to more indie tracks by bands like Yo La Tengo and Real Estate, while classics from Kenny Loggins, The Streets, and Paul McCartney aren’t overlooked either.

Tickets to West Thebarton’s Tops tour are on sale now, with this weekend seeing gigs in Sydney, Newcastle, and a public holiday eve performance in Melbourne on Sunday night.

Shows in Perth, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast are set to follow in the coming weeks, so don’t miss your chance to allow Adelaide’s finest to make you feel absolutely tops.
