It’s been close to seven years, but now New York City experimental rock outfit Yeasayer are set to return to Aussie shores next year with a 2020 headline tour.
Back in 2007, the world was introduced to the majesty of Yeasayer following the critical praise heaped upon their debut record, All Hour Cymbals. By 2010, the band had expanded their success around the world, with Odd Blood charting in numerous countries, and a handful of tracks hitting the triple j Hottest 100 for that year.
Before long, the band were in high demand, playing shows all around the globe and hitting glorious heights at every turn. While two new albums followed in 2012 and 2016, Yeasayer’s fourth (and to date, last) visit to Australia took part in 2013 as part of the Laneway Festival, leaving fans to wonder about their return.
Now, after teasing word of an Aussie visit on Facebook last week, Yesayer have today revealed that they’ll be hitting up Australian shores for the first time in seven years this February.

Kicking off in Brisbane on February 18th, this whirlwind trip will see the band hitting up Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth, ensuring that their eager fans all over the country are catered for.
Performing cuts from their latest album, Erotic Reruns, in addition to a bunch of old favourites, Yeasayer note that they can barely contain their excitement when it comes to seeing some of their Aussie fans again.
“It has been too long not playing to our fans in Australia, and we’re really looking forward to sharing our new record live with yall come February!” the group said in a statement.
Tickets to Yeasayer’s first Aussie tour since 2013 go on sale from Friday, October 11th at 9am, while an early bird pre-sale kicks off 48 hours earlier on Wednesday, October 9th.
