A YouTube cover star has turned her attention to Nine Inch Nails, singing ‘Head Like A Hole’ like you’ve never heard it before.

Violet Orlandi is a well-known performer of covers on YouTube, boasting over 800,000 subscribers. The singer-songwriter and guitarist hails from Brazil and loves nothing better than putting her own unique spin on some of rock and metal’s most iconic hits.

Nirvana (no guesses which song she picked), Breaking Benjamin, The Rolling Stones, and Disturbed are some of the big names she’s covered in the past couple of months, each video racking up the views. Orlandi’s even taken on Evanescence which actually makes a lot of sense once you hear her sing.

Now its the turn of Nine Inch Nails and ‘Head Like A Hole’, a song from their debut album Pretty Hate Machine.

As per her usual style, Orlandi stands against a gloomy and moody backdrop, before belting into her version of the track. It’s haunting, momentous, and does Trent Reznor and co. justice. It might not be as excellent a cover as Johnny Cash’s version of ‘Hurt’ but it’s still good!

It’s only four days old but Orlandi’s video has reached over 80K views already. For a YouTube cover singer, that’s certainly not to be sniffed at.

As per Louder Sound, Orlandi initially set up her YouTube channel in 2012, since gaining over 77 million views accumulatively across her videos.

And covers aren’t all she does: Orlandi recently released her own original song with her band She Won’t Live. It’s called ‘Creatures’ and can be purchased if you’re curious through their website.

If gothic and atmospheric covers are what you’re after though, then subscribe to Orlandi’s YouTube channel here. She drops a new video every Sunday so you won’t be waiting long to see what’s following Nine Inch Nails. Here’s hoping for some Megadeth.
