The nominees for the 2024 AIR Awards have been revealed.

The annual awards recognise and celebrate the success of Australia’s independent music scene, with past winners including Courtney Barnett, Genesis Owusu, Flume, Amyl and the Sniffers, and Tones and I.

The nominees for the 2024 AIR Awards were announced today, alongside the reveal of two new industry categories – the Independent Music Video of the Year and the Independent Producer of the Year awards.

Genesis Owusu is in with a chance of winning big again, nominated in several categories including Independent Album of the Year for STRUGGLER. He’ll face strong competition from Cub Sport, Jen Cloher, Maple Glider, and RVG in the category.

You can check out the extensive list of nominees below, from classical artists to blues and roots albums.

The 2024 AIR Awards will be held at the Queen’s Theatre in Adelaide on Thursday, August 1st.

“The Malinauskas Government is proud to support the AIR Awards and Indie-Con Australia Conference,” Minister for Arts Andrea Michaels MP shares. “It is fantastic to be hosting the awards here in Adelaide again – Australia’s only UNESCO City of Music – and I congratulate all of the nominees.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to recognise the work the independent music industry does in providing talented and emerging artists and music businesses with a platform to share their art with a wider audience.”
