Hankering for the ultimate bit of Prince memorabilia? Recently come into a very large inheritance? Well, you’re in sensational luck.

The Purple One’s private mansion has been placed onto the property market for budding millionaire music fans to prospect, as Consequence of Sound (via Curbed.com) reports, meaning the rest of us can enjoy a virtual tour of Prince’s lavish living space.

Disappointingly, it’s not the prolific 55-year-old’s Minneapolis HQ Paisley Park that’s up for sale, but instead a private villa situated in the El Paraiso foothills of Marbella on Spain’s south coast being sold at a price that’d make doves cry.

Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the mansion is being listed on Luxury Estate with the hefty price tag of £4,607,600 (which converts to a staggering AU$ 8,382,059) and, as expected of the eccentric pop royal, the listing describes the six-bedroom, 13-room property as being fitted out with a “degree of opulence” where “no expense has been spared.”

At the entrance of the villa, entrants are “greeted with an enormous colonial style double staircase” and the luxurious interior features more than enough special accoutrements fit for a stylish music domo, including a “sunken bath, outdoor jacuzzi, marble floors, air conditioning throughout, inside and outside security with camera systems, security room, electric generator, water tanks, irrigation system and a water well.”

The real action, of course, is in the upstairs sleeping quarters where Prince got most of his *ahem* ‘work’ outside of making music done and come “in the form of three huge bedroom suites with marble bathroom and private terrace” to enjoy the “breathtaking panoramic views” of mountains, sea, and the local golf course.

Outdoors is just as excessive, with sprawling gardens stretching over the 5900 m² property festooned with “subtropical trees, that incorporate a tennis court, outdoor heated pool and extensive terraces.”

There’s one catch however, Prince actually purchased the Spanish getaway as a wedding gift for his former wife (and backup singer/dancer) Mayte Garcia. Emphasis on the former, which might explain the distinct lack of Prince’s colour of choice amongst the vast non-purple varnishing of the estate. Apparently, he hasn’t been in the residence in over a decade but nonetheless, the listing says it “was the inspiring scenario for many of his beautiful songs.”

That might include the work he put in finishing 1998’s Crystal Ball album, a four-disc set that included a wealth of unreleased material. Speaking of rarities, Prince is set to dig deep into his extensive archives as part of a new deal signed with former label Warner Bros (as previously reported in our industry news column) in which all ownership of the master recordings return back to Prince himself, which has some major labels ‘scared silly’ as Billboard reports.

Take a further peek inside the former Prince property below, and if you’ve still got the itch – take similarly virtual tours through estates that belonged to John LennonDave Grohl, and the bizarre ex-home of Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan.
