Remember last year when The Purple One, Prince, put (one of?) his mansions out for sale, giving the public an eye into the incredible palace?
Well, to once again inspire you to rob a bank and purchase yourself some serious real estate, images have surfaced of a Balinese-styled villa built for David Bowie, and as you expect, it looks like a private paradise.
As the guys from The Telegraph point out, the once upon a time home away from home of Bowie is named Mandalay, and is situated on the Caribbean island of Mustique, an exclusive location that also housed the likes of Mick Jagger and Jeremy Clarkson.

The mysterious property is said to fetch for around $20 million, built above stunning koi ponds, Bowie’s former home comprises of some pretty interesting extras that include a card room decorated with mussel shells, a studio with a bamboo ceiling which was used by Bowie to record in plus a stage for musical performances, unreal, right?
Bowie spoke of the stunning home in the ’80s, “I wanted something as unlike the Caribbean as possible, it’s a whim personified. I love a good cliché, and this house, for me, is just the most delightful cliché. What you have to realise is that Mustique is a fantasy island.”
As mentioned, the beautiful home is built above water, meaning you can basically roll out of any bed, window or pathway into a swimming pool with dining rooms and bedrooms literally just a step away from bodies of water.
Explaining the spread-out property, he continued “The thing about Mandalay is that it is broken up into little areas that you can get lost in”, man, we’d sure love to get lost in this place, too.
