The release of the recent Michael Hutchence documentary Mystify has reignited fan love and interest in the late INXS frontman. Now, another slice of INXS history is about to hit cinema screens.

The band’s concert movie Live Baby Live is being restored and brought to cinemas for one night only.

The Wembley Stadium concert, originally filmed in 1991, was originally lost. The band’s manager Chris M. Murphy was able to find the original 35mm film cans in Australia after over a decade of searching, starting the restoration process.

The new version of the film features an unseen ‘lost’ track and clarity thanks to a new audio mix from INXS music producer Giles Martin and Sam Okell.

“We were just six blokes from Australia that treated Wembley Stadium like just another pub gig.” INXS’ Tim Farris remembered.

“We went in it with a PA and a few lights and played our asses off. No ego ramps, no back-up singers, no props, no grand pianos etc, just the six of us.”

The one-night only screening of INXS: LIVE BABY LIVE is hitting Australian cinemas on November 27th. You can find out which cinema near you is showing the film here.

For Murphy, the film shows Hutchence on some of his best form.

“Watching it back, Michael is better than even I thought he was – how he managed the stage. His voice became more powerful as the gig went along. It was extraordinary to watch – the crowd and band were as one.”
