UPDATE 13/3/2020: CMC Rocks Qld has now officially been postponed and will hopefully take place in October.
Despite cancellations of several overseas festivals due to coronavirus concerns, there is some good festival news too!
CMC Rocks QLD 2020 is one of the many Australian festivals that will still go ahead as planned.
The festival is due to start next Thursday March 19 at Willowbank Raceway.
It’s being headlined by US superstars Miranda Lambert (performing in Australia for the very first time) and Kip Moore, along with local chart-topper Morgan Evans.
Moore will also play side-shows in Sydney and Melbourne prior to the festival.
Festival promoters have issued an official statement on the matter on their Facebook page.
“We are staying in close contact with the health authorities on any updates and we’re taking extra measures to consider the general health and safety of patrons, artists and staff,” the statement said.

“Additional handwashing facilities will be available, and we’ll have signage reminding everyone to practice good hygiene at the festival. It is strongly advised that patrons supply their own hand sanitiser, a limited range of hygiene items will be available for purchase at the General Store and Pharmacy on site,” it continued.
“At this time, patrons are encouraged to use their best judgement to determine what is appropriate for their own health and wellbeing.”
Billy Currington, Hardy, Brothers Osborne, Abby Anderson, Dustin Lynch, Jimmie Allen and Kassi Ashton are just some of the international artists playing at the year’s festival.
While Lee Kernaghan, Adam Brand, The Wolfe Brothers, Seaforth, Jasmine Rae, Felicity Urquhart, Brad Cox, Charlie Collins, Casey Barnes and Christie Lamb feature in the line-up of local faves.

Zac Brown Band just cancelled a bunch of shows in the USA because of coronavirus concerns.
And last week, Old Dominion pulled out of the Country to Country festival in the UK for the same reason.
But thankfully they don’t appear to have started a trend and that festival will also still take place as planned.
Nearly 20,000 people are expected each day at CMC Rocks Qld what will no doubt be one of the highlights of the year for country music fans.
