Australian musician Dean Lewis made a surprise appearance at the Jonas Brothers’ Greetings From Your Hometown tour opener at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, joining the trio to perform their new collaboration “Loved You Better“.
The night also featured a nostalgic reunion with Demi Lovato for Camp Rock hits “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing”, plus guest spots from Jesse McCartney (“Beautiful Soul”) and Switchfoot (“Meant to Live,” “Hold On”).

Sharing his excitement on social media, Lewis wrote about the collaboration:
“Incredible last 24 hours releasing a song with the @jonasbrothers in NYC. They are quite literally the nicest people I’ve ever met, and somehow so down to earth?! I’m so proud of this song, Joe DM’d me, I had this song idea that I really liked. I sent it to him, and we all worked on it together it made it special. When I got their vocals back I had goosebumps. The songs called “loved you better” and we are all excited for you to hear it. The response has genuinely been huge and I’m feeling so excited about this one! I only go by Dean Jonas now.”
Nick Jonas explained on TalkShopLive how the collaboration came together:

“There’s a song we did with Dean Lewis, which is a great story. Joe and Dean connected and sent some songs over, and one of them was ‘Loved You Better’. Dean was kind enough to hold the song back from his own album so we could include it on ours. I just have to give him flowers, it’s such a kind thing, and probably my favourite ballad we’ve done in our last 5–6 albums.”
