AC/DC‘s new album is reportedly complete, according to radio personality Eddie Trunk of SiriusXM Volume. The American radio presenter has cited a “very well-placed, reliable source” who has updated him on the band’s activity.

The presenter revealed the information live on air in late January, noting that the band completed the album’s recording in Canada.

“He told me to his knowledge, the album is, like you said, done, that they went to that studio in Canada and made this record,” he says.

Trunk also addressed rumours that Malcolm Young’s riffs would be used on the record, confirming this to be true, describing the work to be a tribute to the late guitarist.

He continues, “Malcolm had a bunch of stuff recorded that they worked off of and sort of incorporated into the record.”

In September last year, rumours began to circulate as to whether Malcolm Young’s unused tracks would be used on the album, as to which JAM Magazine noted, “Angus Young is working on a new AC/DC album that will be dedicated to his brother, the late Malcolm Young, here’s the exciting part… the new recordings will include Malcolm Young playing rhythm guitar on ALL TRACKS!”

Late last month, grindcore band Terrorizer posted to social media that they had bumped into AC/DC’s former vocalist Brian Johnson in an LA studio in which he confirmed his re-joining of the band.

“We ran into Brian Johnson from AC/DC at the airport today after the flight home and we asked him about the rumours of him being on the new AC/DC album.

He said, ‘Yes’ and that he is ‘sick of denying it’. So that was a cool surprise ending to the tour.”

It is still unclear as to whether the album will also feature Axl Roses vocals, which was rumoured to be true in May last year.
