US hip-hop artist A$AP Rocky has just released his latest single, which features a sample from none other than Aussie psych-rockers Tame Impala.

It’s hardly been six months since A$AP Rocky released his latest album, Testing, but that hasn’t stopped him from hitting the studio to record brand new tunes.

Produced by Danger Mouse, A$AP Rocky’s latest single – ‘Sundress’ – is a smooth number that features a beat that comes straight from Tame Impala’s 2010 jam ‘Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind?’

The tune is also accompanied by a pretty impressive music video that shows A$AP Rocky attending a club where everyone appears to be frozen in place. Directed by Frank Lebon, the clip appears to have been heavily influenced by 2016’s Mannequin Challenge.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that we’ve heard rumours of a Tame Impala and A$AP Rocky collab, with the rapper explaining to Faster Louder back in 2013 that he was a big fan of Kevin Parker and co., adding “I want to work with them.”

Last year though, it looked like we might have been receiving an official collaboration when a snippet of an A$AP Rocky track called ‘Pretty Guy’ appeared online. While not much info was given about the track, a video alleged that it was in fact produced by Kevin Parker, who has been becoming quite the prolific musician in recent years.

While ‘Pretty Guy’ didn’t appear on 2018’s Testing, there’s no telling if the track is still on the way, or if is indeed just a fake made by someone online.

Whatever the case, with a new single from A$AP Rocky out in the world, we can only hope this might mean a new album is on the way, and that Kevin Parker might have been recruited to make it an absolute classic.
