This year marks 20 years since blink-182 released their seminal record Enema of the State. Naturally, there has been much speculation about how the band would celebrate the occasion. Well, it looks like we finally have some confirmation.

Last night on Twitter, Mark Hoppus revealed that the band have plans to play the 1999 record in full at an upcoming festival. When asked by a fan if the band have any plans to celebrate the records, Hoppus replied: “Yes I think we’re going to play EOTS in its entirety at Back to the Beach to celebrate 20yrs.”

Back to the Beach festival is set to take place at Huntington State Beach in California —blink-182’s hometown— on April 27 and 28. The festival is hosting a bunch of legendary punk acts including Goldfinger, The Aquabats and Reel Big Fish.

There has been no word yet about whether fans can expect former guitarist Tom DeLonge to make an appearance during this anniversary performance, but here’s to hoping. Hearing ‘Aliens Exist’ just would not be right without the alien conspiracy theorist himself.

Last week, Tom DeLonge opened up about why he decided to leave blink-182. In a video posted to the To The Stars Academy Of Arts & Science website, DeLonge detailed his personal reasons for leaving the band.

“The last show I played was in front of 100,000 people. They wonder why I’m not doing that now and I’ll say because this is the one moment in my life where I’ll be able to look back as an old man and say, ‘oh my god, I was apart of the team that changed the world’,” He shared. “I wanted to make a quick message to let you know that from the heart, I left my band and all that I was known for because this is the moment and time I can change the world for my kids and everybody else.”

Earlier this month, blink-182 confirmed that their forthcoming record will arrive before the Vans Warped Tour. Travis Barker has also likened the new record to the bands 2003 untitled album, sharing: “I feel like this is the closest we’ve come to something like blink-182 since that album, which is one of my favourite blink albums by far.”

Warped tour is set to kick off on June 29th.
